The Caserne 18-30 of the CCSE Maisonneuve is a community recreation center specializing in circus arts for people aged 18-30. If you are looking for a recreational activity in Montreal that gets you moving, then you`ve come to the right place! Aerial silks, acrobatics, hand to hand, trapeze, trampoline, acro-yoga, flexibility and dance, hip hop, gumboot, zumbala (cardio-dance), and many more! The quality and passion of our coaches makes the Caserne a unique training space in Montreal. Take a look at our evening class programs to learn more!
The end-of-session show
Each year at the beginning of december, members of the evening classes are invited to participate in the end of session show. Their families, friends as well as people who live around the Caserne are invited to attend this show. Energy, sharing and passion are the words that define this event.
Open circus training
Specializing in circus activities, we have a gym for free training frequented by semi-professional and professional circus performers. The open training component of the Caserne 18-30 thus allows artists from here and elsewhere a space in which to develop and hone their craft while networking with their peers in a friendly atmosphere and at low cost. Following a selection process, members of the open training component volunteer to perform in our annual fundraising show Cirqua Zerna.
The Caserne18-30 is involved in the local community in a number of ways; communal dinners with residents of the 4 Auberges du cœur, partnership with the social reintegration project Décrocher puis après, partnership with the project TEVA designed to smooth the transition from school to working life for young people with disabilities, working with participation Partage de Noël, and many others. On top of this, many members of free training circus component of theCaserne 18-30 participate in three different social projects (Nuit des sans abri, État d’urgence and the Marche 2/3) and this is made possible through a partnership with the department of action and social responsibility of Cirque du Soleil.
In addition to our cultural programming and the circus component, the Caserne 18-30 of the CCSE Maisonneuve offers social gatherings to its members as a means of getting to know the other members such as; knitting night, an evening of stories, and others.
