Caserne 18-30 in the community
The Caserne18-30 is involved in the local community in a number of ways; communal dinners with residents of the 4 Auberges du cœur, partnership with the social reintegration project Décrocher puis après, partnership with the project TEVA designed to smooth the transition from school to working life for young people with disabilities, working with participation Partage de Noël, and many others. On top of this, many members of free training circus component of theCaserne 18-30 participate in three different social projects (Nuit des sans abri, État d’urgence and the Marche 2/3) and this is made possible through a partnership with the department of action and social responsibility of Cirque du Soleil.
La Caserne 18-30 has a multifunction room with tables, chairs and a small stage which allows us to hold small-scale artistic events (live music, storytelling, etc...) and also social activities (game nights, arts and crafts workshops, etc...). In addition to this, the room can be rented for an expositions or small shows.
50 person capacity.
Beyond this la Caserne 18-30 has 3 Internet stations available for personal use between 4pm and 9pm, Monday to Friday with a cost of $1/hr.
There is a dance studio, meeting room, multipurpose room, and gymnasium available for rent. Contact us for details on availability and prices.
The CCSE MAISONNEUVE center
The CCSE Maisonneuve
La Caserne 18-30 is part of the CCSE Maisonneuve, which also offers many other recreational activities for children aged 2 to 12 years old (Pirouette Club), teenagers aged 12 to 17 (Carrefour group), adults from 18 to 50 (adult sector) and the elderly 50 years and older (gold and silver group). In addition to having an exterior area (the outdoor section of Ste-Emilie de l’Energie), the CCSE Maisonneuve supports the prevention of Crime in the municipality program (alongside Mercier/Hochelaga Maisonneuve) and also offers theatrical shows (Café Theatre).
The CCSE Maisonneuve is a non profit recreational center supported by the Centraide du grand Montreal, the Ministry of Education, by Loisir et du Sport du Québec, the municipality of Mercier/Hochelaga-Maisonneuve of Montreal, and the Caisse Populaire of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
