As a means of providing an opportunity for our members to experience circus performance in a professional production, each year La Caserne 18-30 produces Cirqua Zerna. After passing through an audition process, members of the open gym training component perform as part of this show, together with other young adult volunteers who see to the technical and logistics requirements of a show this big. This show, Cirqua Zerna, is not only an opportunity for our performers to present their work to the public but also gives them a chance to work alongside other performers to achieve a common goal, to develop professionally and to have a great time! Our approach to the community and social aspect of performance offers our members a learning environment with a strong focus on peer support. It is for this reason that these artists volunteer in for our annual show while also giving something back to the community!
The 2013 edition of Cirqua Zerna will be presented on May 10th and 11th. For more information, go HERE.
Each year in November, the members of our evening activities are encouraged, if they are interested, to participate in the end of session show, La Totale. This yearly event is often times the first chance some of these young performers have to present and showcase what they’ve been learning to their friends and family with the rest of their class. This event represents a concrete goal for the students to practice towards and makes the many hours of practicing much more rewarding for the students. Lots of energy, passion, and a chance to work together in a group give us all a chance to start off the holiday season on the right foot!
The 2013 edition of La Totale will be presented on November 30th
